On June 6, 2025, President Donald Trump signed a sweeping executive order banning entry into the United States from twelve nations, most of them majority-Muslim or African. The administration claims the move protects national security. Critics call it what it is: discrimination dressed up as policy.
The banned countries include Afghanistan, Iran, Somalia, Syria, Nigeria, Sudan, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, Eritrea, Tanzania, and Kyrgyzstan. This echoes his 2017 “Muslim Ban” but broader, bolder, and with even less legal clarity.
Those fleeing persecution, seeking reunification with family, or arriving to study or work are once again being painted as threats. Entire populations are being turned away at the door, not because of what they’ve done, but because of where they’re from.
A Voice of Truth
“When fear writes the law, freedom is the first to fall.”
This is not national security. This is national amnesia. We’ve forgotten who we are, or perhaps revealed who we’ve become.
The Bigger Picture
This executive order is part of a larger campaign of isolationism, fear, and scapegoating. It aligns with recent ICE raids, courthouse detentions, and aggressive border tactics—all designed to shrink the promise of America.
For every family turned away, the country grows colder. For every student denied a visa, our future dims.

What would you tell someone locked out of the only refuge they’ve ever had?
